I am hoping you can help with a problem several of us have been working on.
Our ancestor, James McDONALD,son of John B. McDONALD, married "the widow" McQueen in Jura or Skye abt 1748, traveled with his wife and sons, John, Hugh, Alexander, and Daniel to North Carolina about 1774. There were also some McQueens who arrived with them, and shared in a 40,000 acre land grant in NC. I am hoping you can point me in the right direction to find out who the "widow" McQueen who married James was and her family also.
