Do you know if your Aunt Lena is connected to a Susan Ellis McClellan of Saranac Lake, NY? Susan was my husband's great-great-grandmother. She married George Washington Walton of Keene, NY in 1874 and had several children. Some census records I have indicate Susan was born in Canada... but I only recently found George's obituary online and through it, learned Susan's full maiden name. The same newspaper microfilms contained a blurb about an outing that some of the Waltons took, and the item mentions a Lena McClelland. I have assumed she was somehow related to Susan and would love to verify this - especially if she has descendants in Syracuse, since we live there too! Please let me know if you see a connection.
