Looking for information On Samuel Marks. According to records he was born in Ohio in 1824 but no indication as to where in Ohio. A family story says that there was some kind of terrible occurrence and either one or both of his parents died. It is said he might have had 5 or 6 brothers and maybe 1 or 2 sisters. No names or hints on the siblings or parents. It is believed that all the children were fostered out to various other homes. The first document mentioning Samuel is on his marriage certificate to Electa Bassett in 1848 in Indiana. It seems that Samuel did not know his parents so I am assuming that whatever took place must have happened when he was extremely young. Any help or advice would be deeply appreciated. Thanks.
