I too am researching a Paul McPherson. Born> 1693 in Dunboe, Londonderry, Ulster, Ireland.
I have a lot on his ancesters but come to a halt at him.
The family tale of this is that the local church in Dunboe with all the records, caught fire and burned to the ground.
