Hi Peter,

William Law is my 4th great grandfather who came to Philadelphia from Belfast in 1794 and settled in western Va in 1795. (Now West Virginia) He was born in northern Ireland in about 1740-50.
I believe they were forced to flee their native Scotland.
They were farmers in Va when they arrived, and I believe they were also farmers in Antrium, Ireland.
I realize that this is not the branch of the Law family you are looking for, but just reaching out in case you have any info at all.
I am trying to trace them back to Scotland and to their Clan which I believe is Clan MacLaren
Any help would be greatly appreciated
