i am hoping to get in contact with anyone researching the Mackey family from Co. Kilkenny, in particular Thomas Mackey born ca. 1826 Co. Kilkenny, parents William Mackey [farmer]and Hanora Ryan [both who I think stayed in Co. Kilkenny). Thomas married Bridget Remilton on 20 January 1854, Roman Catholic Church in Co. Kilkenny, then migrated with his wife to the Colony of Queensland, Australia, as an assisted immigrant, arriving at Brisbane on the "Monsoon" on 13 August 1854. About two years later he and his family moved to New South Wales, where he became a gold miner, eventually settling in the small village of Cargo, N.S.W.
