Evelyn, thanks for your response. I have Scottish census of my family being in Ridarrach, Knoydart Scotland up to 1853. My family was part of the Knoydart clearances. Our family lore has us as first cousins to either Sir John A. MacDonald or John Sandfield MacDonald. John Sandfield was from the same area as my family while Sir John was from Rogart. I have never been able to establish a documented link but my DNA has ties to several other gentlemen who have Loupe MacDonald's in their line. If I can help you in any way, please let me know.
