As one of the many descendents of Jean Lemire (the carpenter who came to Canada around 1650), I've found several resources online identifying his parents in his hometown of Saint-Vivien, Rouen, Normandy, France.
Has anyone seen or does anyone have information about Lemires in Rouen going back farther than that? I note, for example, that there is a "Nicholas Lemire" present at the trial of Joan of Arc, which took place in Rouen in 1431.
Any and all information and leads are welcome!
Thanks,
TSL
