Being on a bit of a roll, via the IGI, I have linked Lexia Bain's chart with the Herald's Visitation of Cornwall of 1620. IF, I repeat, IF that link is valid then all descendants of the Rev Gilbert Henry Langdon (1688-1735) bearing the name Langdon are technically armigerous. That is to say that they are entitled to use the Coat of Arms, with differences, of the Langdons of Keverell as recorded in the Visitation.
Strictly speaking the basic, or stem, coat of Arms only descends from eldest son to eldest son. Younger sons can use the Arms but have to display a cadency mark to show that they are a cadet or junior branch. Unlike in Scotland where the Arms of cadet branches are strictly regulated, England tends to let the practice drop.
Time permitting; I hope to be able to add a rendition of the Langdon Arms to the web page.
Yours aye
Stephen
