I have a robert Lane born in about 1639 thought to have been from derbyshire. He was among the early settlers of stratford Conn. He settled in killingworth and died thewre in 1718. He represented his town in the local assembly from 1699-1715. He and sarah pickett had ten children sarah, hannah, daniel, robert, john, elizabeth, margaret (after sarah's mother), rebecca, jonathan, and mary. fifth child John became deacon of the congressional church, and a prominant land owner, brother Johnathan was a lieutenant in the militia. The list goes on and on, some of these Lanes migrated to Vt. Laura
