Surnames: Kuba
My maternal aunt Margaret Prohinsky Kuba was married to Anthony Kuba and they lived with their children in Gibsonia, Pennsylvania, which is north of Pittsburgh.

Anthony had a sister who was a nun; she was known to me as Sister Mary Sinfarose (sp????). Anthony had once studied to be a priest.

Anthony was employed by the Austin Company (Austin Bleach, Austin Fabric Softener, etc).

Anthony & Margaret Kuba had two sons, Raymond and Charles. They also had two daughters, Rose and Joan.

Joan was severely mentally retarded and was institutionalized in Polk State Hospital, as was the practice in the late 1940's & 1950's. As far as I know, she is deceased.

Anthony passed away several years ago, but I am not certain of the date.

Margaret is in her late 80's & living in a nursing home in the Ross Twp/McCandless Twp area of Pittsburgh.

I'm sorry I do not have any information about where this branch of the Kuba family orginally emigrated from.

I don't know if this helps fill in any blanks for you, but I hope it does. Good Luck in your search.

Juliana-I am pleased to introduce myself. I married into the Kuba family and my husband's grandmother was Margaret Prohinsky. I am saddened to pass on to you that she has recently passed on. Please write back to me and lets collaborate because all your info matches up. I would love to share what else I have and learn anything else you may know. Thanks in advance.

Michael -

Just came across your post and I saw that you mentioned a Michael Mihalik from Presov. My paternal grandfather, Andrew Mihalik, came over with his 3 brothers and eventually his father (John),. One of his brother's names was Michael.

I'd like to explore the connection. I have a family tree completed in the 60's that may prove helpful. Though, admittedly, it is a long document of over 1100 descendents, so a might confusing to follow!
