I've been searching for the history of the house we bought last Feburary, and have come up with the William Knabb family that you are inquiring about. The cornerstone on our largest barn says, William Knabb,1846,. If I am indeed living in your family homestead I'd welcome you to visit if you'd like. We are in the process of restoring it ,slowly but surely might I add.The place has been neglected for the past ten to fifteen years, so what a job we have, alot of cleanup.

Maybe I llive in the Knabb homestead?

You are the third person form the message board that I have contacted, I've been trying to find the history of the house we bought last Feburary. The cornerstone on our largest barn says William Knabb,1846. Through this site I see that it may be the home of some of your ancestors. If you are interested, let me know, I'd be happy to show you around if it is your family. The place was neglected for years, and redone in the late 60's to early 70's, very distastefully, and we are in the slow process of restoring it correctly. It's not great yet, but you're welcome to visit.

Neat! When can I visit? Email me a day and time! [zachar@fast.net] I have the following information from another local researcher -- do you think it includes your property?:
"William Knabb was a large land owner west of Limekiln, Oleyline Pa. owner of four farms and a mill property, (the mill property is now known as Biebers Mill, still owned by e.K. Bieber 1974) the total acreage consisting of five hundred acres. Build the barn on his home property 1866, and also a barn on the other farm nearer Oleyline 1855 the same farm his father Peter build his house 1806.
William was a member of Spies Reformed Church, is buried on the family lot at this church. He was one of the Founders of The Spies Church Cemetery Company, and it’s first President, being succeeded by his son Mahlon Knabb, who in turn was succeeded by his son Peter H. Knabb. William, was also a prominent man of his community served as poor Director 1849 to 1852, and as County Commissioner 1855-1858”
