Hi All,

I am a descendant of a Kellow family in America that arrived in Maryland in the late 1600's. I can pretty easily document my line all the way back to there where it begins with a John Kello/Kellow and Mary Hide (although I know Mary's parents to be Thomas and Hannah Hyde and I know Mr. Hyde to have been in America by 1682 at the latest). I have found many records of Kello's in Scotland (esp. near Edinburgh) and Kellows in England (near Newcastle), and several in the Covenanters notes - all in the 1500-1600's just before mine show up in America. In the last few days I stumbled across a Clan Home website that claims the Kello/Kellow/Kelloe families as septs, but I found another in which the Kello's are not listed. It seems pretty clear the Kellows were Border Scots so does the Home Clan have any history on them?
