Hello Irbyty: I am familiar with all the Irbys in the Sardis/Como/Batesville, MS area. I grew up in Batesville. My 2nd great grandmother was Jennie Wills Irby and her husband was Robert Irby who was dead by the 1870 census. I found info about him on the death certificate of two of the younger daughters of Jennie. Rose Irby was my great grandmother on my father's side. One of my good friends who has been doing genealogy much longer than I have is also from the Irby line and also grew up in Batesville, MS. The slaveholders who brought our ancestors from Nottoway County, VA to the Como/Sardis area were Freeman Irby and his brother J.W. Irby. My good friend also gave me the death certificate of one your ancestors sons, Ed Irby son of James Irby. This certificate indicates the maiden name of your 2nd great grandmother, Agnes, was Anderson. If you would like to find out more about the Irbys please contact me at b.j.caldwell38@gmail.com. I am also on Facebook as Bettye J. Caldwell from Chicago, IL originally from Batesville, MS.
