Dear Charles:

I've collected Iman files for a while, and though I can't vouch for the quality all all details, I believe that your Mary Polly Iman, who married Peter Roderick, may have been the daughter of Eamnual Iman and Barbara Sites who were married in Allegany Co of Md, though they seem to have resided in what was then Hardy County. It's believed that Barbara was born about 1796 in the area that's now Pendleton, while Emanuel, born about 1795 seems to have been the son of a Christian and Catherine Eyman who took property close to Petersburg. Iman had up to 500 acres, a sawmill and gristmill. Emmert Bittinger had described Christian Eyman and a 'dunker elder', though the question is somewhat open. Emanuel was a physician, teacher, and minister of the Brethren Church and was noted a a resident of South Mill Creek.

My notes suggest that Sanford married Hannah Elizabeth, and subsequently her half-sister. The children's maternal grandmother (Mary Iman) lived with the family after Sanford married Laura, Hannah Elizabeth's half-sister. Mary lived to be an old woman, outliving Sanford and Laura's time with the children.

In addition to the children you list for Sanford and Hannah Elizabeth, I show a Pearl and Flora with no information about dates, places, or life partners.
