Hello,

I am looking for information on a Robert Horsefield or Horsfield and a Thomas Horsefield.

Thomas Dodge Horsefield or Horsfield.
Born about 1836 in Morristown or Dekalb, New York

In the 1850 NY census it is listed his father as:
Robert Horsefield (Born in England)
Robert is listed as 46 years old in 1850 census
Mother as Sarah Horsefield (Born 1799 in England)
Sarah is listed as 51years old in the 1850 census

They married around 1843-4 in New York

Thomas Dodge Horsefield was born to Mathew and Sarah Emerson in Morristown or Dekalb, NY around 1836. Mathew Emerson died August 15, 1841. Sarah then remarried Robert Horsefield and her three remaining Emerson children still living in New York (Thomas Dodge, James and Martha Jane) took on Horsefield's last name in the 1850 census.

It has been written down in our Emerson family history that Thomas (Emerson) Horsefield ran away from home at a young age (12 or 13 years of age) and was never heard from again.

Would anyone know of this Robert Horsefield/Horsfield or of Thomas Horsefield/Horsfield?

Robert may have been a widower and had other older children who had grown and left the New York area as he and Sarah married later in their lives.

Any information or leads would be greatly appreciated.
