Hi Joy,

I have not known of the Richard and Harmon Holloman who were in Burke Co. GA in the late 1700s. Testimony in court cases in the 1790s or early 1800s concerning recovery of debts to English companies incurred before the Revolutionary War indicate that the Harmon Holloman of Wake County had been a poor man unlikely to have the funds to repay any old debts and that he had moved to South Carolina in the 1780s and was thought to still be living there. That description seems to fit the Harmon Holloman who appeared in the Darlington Co. area of South Carolina before 1790 along with his son Kindred. Doesn't seem likely he was the Harmon Hollyman you say lived in Georgia in the 1780s who appears to have been more prosperous. The Harmon Holloman of Wake Co. NC and Darlington Co SC area apparently did have another younger son named Harmon also. Possibly this younger son went down to Burke Co. GA. As I do not descend directly from them and as my own Hollomans did not go to SC and GA, I have not investigated the Hollomans who did go to SC and GA and settle there very much as doing so did not seem likely to prove or disprove a connection between them and my own Hollomans.

However, as Tina has posted, there is a significant group of Holloman researchers who apparently descend from the group of Hollomans who are connected to the David, Samuel, Mark, and Absalom Holliman that you mention and just this week they have been posting to Tina's Yahoo Hollyman Family Group about these Hollimans, You definitely might find more info on these Hollimans at that Yahoo Group. They also have in the past posted on other earlier Hollomans of Johnston Co. NC. However, I have never seen anyone mention Harmon and Richard Hollyman of Burke Co. GA or any Hilbun/Hilburn at that Group.

I will have to look into the Harmon and Richard Hollyman you have told me about to see if I can find a connection to the group in the Darlington Co. SC area. If I can find out anymore about them that would be of interest, I will post it back here.

Thank you for posting this info for me.

-Lynn
