According to The History of Weymouth, Massachusetts, Ebenezer and Mary Hollis had a daughter named Mary, born 9 Feb 1763, who may possibly have married a Samuel Pratt. Indeed, a number of individual online databases state this to be a fact.
I would like to submit that this Mary Hollis did not marry Samuel Pratt, but instead married an Ezra Winslow of Dartmouth MA, based on the following circumstantial evidence:
1) According to the published Vital Records of Dartmouth, Massachusetts, Ezra Winslow and Polley Hollis, both residents of Dartmouth, were married 26 Dec 1793. They had a son, Ezra Jr., born there 12 Dec 1797.
2) Ezra Jr.'s death record, dated at Dartmouth MA, 27 Apr 1871, lists his mother as Mary and her birth place as Weymouth MA.
3) The death notice of Polly Winslow, wife of Ezra Winslow of Dartmouth, appeared in the Oct 25, 1833 issue of the New Bedford Mercury, which gives her age as 68. This would put her birth year at around 1764 or 1765, close to the birth date of the Mary who was the daughter of Ebenezer and Mary, and taking into account the fact that ages at death are not always accurate.
4) The published Vital Records of Dartmouth also record, in addition to Mary's marriage to Ezra Winslow in 1793, the marriages of a Chloe Hollis to Timothy Mosher in 1784 and a Reuel Hollis to Amy Wood in 1795. According to the History of Weymouth, Mary Hollis, daughter of Ebenezer and Mary, had a sister named Chloe and a brother named Reuel.
