Hello -
Since you are interested in the parents of Charles Stanley Hocking of Waupaca, you may also be interested in one of his sisters, Elisabeth Lucile Hocking, who seems to have preferred to be called by her middle name, Lucile (spelled with one "l" in most information I have found about her.)
I came across a 1914 newspaper brief mentioning her as director of the Waupaca Choral Union. Apparently in November 1914 the Waupaca Choral Union gave a performance of the opera "Robin Hood" by Henry Louis Reginald de Koven in Waupaca.
A copy of the newspaper article (The Duluth [Minn.] Herald, Tuesday, November 10, 1914, Page 13, Column 7, Wisconsin Briefs column) is attached.
Added information on Lucile Hocking: She enrolled in the Crane Normal Institute of Music, Potsdam, New York (now known at the Crane School of Music, State University of New York at Potsdam) in the Fall of 1909.
I am related to the Hocking family line through marriage. One of the William J. and Mary E. Wright Hocking daughters, Bernice Hocking, married Arthur Ogden Knight of Waupaca. He was the brother of my maternal grandfather, Claude Joel Knight.
Best wishes -
