I have a mystery in my family concerning a Edward Hayes, We don't know his middle name. His death/marriage record claim abt.1865 as his birth year but I found a Canadian census that states 1873. And his wife was born 1878, they appear close in age.One thing we do know is he was a Orphan at the age of 12. (1885 ?) His father died, we have no idea how or where. Our Edward just pops up here in Canada in 1901 and marries. His parents are to be William Hayes and Mary Balmer. He claims to be from England but I cannot after 2 years of paying and searching find records to match. I have begun to believe they may have lived in the US or Australia, but that's an assumption based on the countless databases I have searched.
