Corrections to this early posting based on new information since found.

Levi Harrell RS born about 1740 most likely in NC either the Anson or Bertie areas. He started to buy lands in South Carolina old Craven County as early as 1770 just across line from Anson NC area. Around 1785 he had moved closer to Charleston area into old Berkeley County Area where he with two of his brother picked up lands around their father Jacob Harrell of Saint Johns Parish SC on Wassamassaw Swamp. Levi Harrell was named and appointed in 1787 as exeuctor to Jacob where Levi Harrell a grandson of Jacob got left 204 acres and homes on Wassamassaw Swamp by Jacob on his death in 1787 just under two months after will filed in Charleston SC and thus proved there.

Levi Harrell RS 1750 estate papers show up in Barnwell SC and indicate he died some time in early 1805 and final papers on his estate date to late 1806. These papers were filed by Esther Harrell (believed to be his wife surname White), Levi Harrell (believed to be his son thus grandson got land from Jacob in 1787 at age 10), and Conrad Augley (either close family friend of the Harrell or local person helped the widow file the estate papers as the Augley name shows as ealry as 1802 in SC and as late as 1817 in GA with the Harrell).

Also based on land records; as have yet to find documents to support marriage of Levi to any person; believe that Levi Harrell RS wed Miss Esther White and she was his only wife from about 1776 until his death in 1805. The Mrs Sarah Cole as a widow is most likely his aunt the widow of Francis Harrell of Johnston County NC died about 1804 which happens to be the common time Levi RS is said took a second wife. Also indications are that Levi Harrell RS during American Revolution may well like many have sent his family away from the Charleston SC area to stay in safer areas with relatives thus possibly his children and wife spent a good deal of time in Johnston County NC with Uncle Francis and Aunt Sarah (Cole) Harrell until at least the end of American Revolution about 1784/5 and may even have been with GPa Jacob Saint Johns Parish SC up to 1787 thus still close to Uncle Francis and Aunt Sarah of Johnston County NC.

SC land records show and Esther White held a section of land on Allison Creek in old Craven County SC between 1773 and 1775 which is in the same area Jacob picked up his early lands on the NC SC line but have yet to link him with Esther directly or several other White that can link to either Jacob or Levi Harrell in this area before American Revolution.

Another factor for error here is Sarah (Cole) Harrell widow of Francis Harrell died in 1807 leaving a will in Johnston County NC but have yet found documents to support her death being in Johnston County NC. Thus possible Levi Harrell RS may have sent his son Asa to assist her in settling the estate of Francis in 1804 and then later he came to settle Sarah estate on her death in 1807 as indications are Francis and Sarah children may well have died off or not been near enough to help settle either estate 1804 or 1807.. or may have been minors and not able to settle it, thus came under the care of the next elder Harrell being Levi RS..
