Hi RayeAnn. My brother was DNA swabbed to try to determine if we do have Indian blood, but then we realised the male line comes from England, The Indian blood would be through the female side, probably a female descendent of Evaline Weatherford, who married Kimbrough Jones. Evaline was Cordelia's mother. Susan Clarke wrote on Ancestry.com that her great-grandmother (Adlai Hardin Bass Hoyle) used to speak of her grandmother (Evaline Weatherford) as being of Creek blood. She often spoke of Red Eagle (William Weatherford) and showed Susan pictures of him in books.
The best way to find out would be dna mapping. Anyone with Indian blood will have a particular marker that only exists in people descended from north American indians. Do you know of any women in your family who has had this test? I could do it, but it would trace my mother's line only, it has to be a woman descended from Evaline Weatherford. RayeAnn, my email is laura.hardin@htb.org.uk. Send me an email and I'll send you more details, too much info for this site. Thanks so much. Laura
