I also believe that William M. Hamilton b. abt 1829 in York County, SC is my ancestor. He had a Daughter by the name of Sarah listed in the 1870 census. We now know Sarah as "Sallie" Jane (Hamilton) Cobb - since she married James Cobb in York County, SC we believe around 1881. She is my great grandmother on my mothers side. I do find, as someone reported as well, that a William M. Hamilton shows up in MS in 1900 and has married a very young Sarah A. Randall there in abt. 1885. I am assuming that Jane (his first wife and my ancestor) must have died prior to him relocating to MS. Sarah A. does file for pension - for William's Civil War Service from MS. We also know that our Sarah Jane was born in 1863 in SC (Rock Hill we believe).

If you anyone has additional information or if someone can fill me in on what you now know about William M. Hamilton - I would greatly appreciate it.
