My grandmother's name is Bernice Hall. She had 3 sons and 4 daughters. They settled in High Point, NC. My mother's name is Gracie F. Hall. She married my father, Charles R.
Gyant, Sr., originally from Durham, NC. His mother had 14 children, and settled in High
Point, NC. Charles and Gracie had settled in Fort Bragg/Fayetteville, NC, where they had 3 children....Charles, Gwendolyn and Cheryl. The Halls' and Dora Flowers' generations are relatively new to me and will research the given accounts I've seen so far. I've done more research on my father's side and found the name Gyant originated from England and recorded in the Abbey's registers, dating back to the 14th century. The name reappears in New York with Susan Gyant in the 1700's,where she had
married a German immigrant by the last name of Hermann, and they both moved to Nebraska. and again in 1841 with James Gyant, who had published a book of public portraits that is recorded at the Library of Congress. Also,
Sarah Syiner Gyant Gantt, 1886-1948, buried in Watts(Davidson) Cementary in Willisville,
Arkansas. Right now trying to pinpoint details of another James Gyant, a slave who
was bought circa 1700's in Philadelphia to
marry a young woman, name unknown. Our current generations located along the eastern seaboard--New York, NJ, DELAWARE, Baltimore,MD, DC, PA and VIRGINIA have any
