Gureski

Surnames: Gureski / Patton (Guresky, Gureske, Gureske, Guretzki, Gureczky, Gurecki,Gorecki)
I am researching the Gureski family tree.

I am stuck at Stanley Gureski (1853-1950). He married Helen Stella Patton (b1877). They had 5 children, Stanley jr, Anton, Joseph, Stella and Laurie. Although Laurie died about the age of 12.

On census records I have found that he was born in Poland arrived in the US either 1886 or 1889 (2 census say different things) and naturalized in 1891.

I believe that he had a brother named brother Antony (married to Fiona) who lived with his family for a short time when he first came over.

I get stuck when I get to Stanley and Helen's generation. I know that they were born in Poland/Russia, but that's as far as I get. I have also been looking at alternate spellings/misspellings - Guresky, Gureske, Gureske, Guretzki, Gureczky, Gurecki,Gorecki

Does anyone have any connections or suggestions? Is there a way to look up Polish birth records? I haven't found anything in immigration or naturalization records. My husband's grandfather told me that at one time he had a piece of paper that was signed by the Czar of Russia (Alexander III) giving them permission to leave the country.

Any help or suggestions would be GREATLY appreciated!

Thanks!
Chrissy
