My wife's ancestor, Daniel Griswold, was born in 1780 and died in 1831 in Victory, Cayuga, NY, and is buried there. His father was supposedly Daniel Griswold who was born 20 August 1756 (Connecticut) and died 22 December 1839 in Fairfield, Herkimer, NY.Problem is that there are several Daniel Griswolds who lived in Herkimer County at the same time, including Daniel B. Griswold (b. 1722 in Connecticut and died sometime after 1792), and his son Daniel who was born 17 January 1756 and is thought to have died in Washington, County, NY circa 1795 of small pox. I need help straightening out all these Daniel Griswolds because originally we thought Daniel B. Griswold's son was the same as my wife's ancestor, but turns out they might have been two different persons born the same year. Does anyone have access to any of the printed Griswold Genealogies by Coralee Griswold, and Esther Griswold French? I have access to the one written by Glenn E. Griswold in 1935, but it doesn't list the later generations. Thank you for any help you can provide!
