do you know who crawly's parents are? is john but j. grinstead his father or grandfather? my ggrandmother willy used to tell my mother and her siblings "dont ever forget, you are 1/16 indian" does this come from the grinsteads or the mccues? and which tribe? i have heard cherokee, but would like to have proof. I found crawly in the 1890 chickasaw nation with wife and a couple of others. there is a book about oil center, ok where his mule team won a pulling contest, and my aunt said he hauled the street bricks for wynnewood ok with his team.
