There are several Hardy Griffin and don't know if they are related. There is Hardy Griffin, Jr., who was born in Nash County, N.C. 10/31/1811 and his father, Hardy Griffin, Sr., wo was born approx 1854 again in Nash County. Sr. died in 1835 in Wetumpka, Coosa, Alabama. Jr., died 4/27/1870 in Perry County, Al. There is lots of information on them.
