I have the same William Gill in my tree, married to Anne McLean, daughter Mary Gill b. 1785 in Kennetcook, Nova Scotia. Did you ever get more information about him? Kennetcook was in the general location of a large land grant to members of the 84th Regiment of Foot after the American Revolution. I'm trying to find some connection to Gill possibly with that group. In any case if you have anything I'd appreciate it if you pass it along.
