YOUNGSTOWN – A celebration of life will be held at noon on Monday, Jan. 5, 2015, at the Kubina-Yuhasz-Wasko Funeral Home for Gilbert Frank Gaal, 67, who passed away early Thursday morning, Jan 1, 2015.
Gilbert was born Jan. 31, 1947, in Youngstown, Ohio (Mahoning County) a son of the late Geza and Irene Szalma Gaal.
He worked as a pipefitter for GE, retiring after 35 years.
Frank "Choo-Choo", was a Lionel train collector.
He was passionate about cars. He was the proud owner of a 1947 Dodge Coupe and enjoyed building cars.
He was a member for 35 years of the Youngstown Rod and Custom Car Club, and would help the car club collect money for Akron (Ohio) Children’s Hospital.
He leaves to cherish his memories, his wife, the former Darlene Radovich, whom he married Aug. 8, 1970; his son, Joseph (Jennifer) Gaal of Boardman, Ohio; three grandchildren, Macenzee, Eric, and Danica Gaal; his mother-in-law, Margaret Radovich; his sister-in-law, JoAnn (Dan) Coyne; his niece, Rebecca (Richard) Clinton all of Boardman, Ohio.
The Gaal family has entrusted their loved one to the care of the Kubina-Yuhasz-Wasko Funeral Home, where they will receive friends from 2 to 6 p.m. on Sunday and also one hour prior to the service, at 11 a.m., on Monday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that material contributions be made to the Akron Children’s Hospital, Mahoning Valley, ATTN: Foundation, 6505 Market St., Building C, Boardman, OH 44512.
