Hello Gerald;
I have no way of knowing what our Anne's hobbies were nor which side of the Hudson's Bay blanket this farmer's daughter's children were born on. However, I can give you what little more information I have on her:
Anne Amelia FOSTER
b. 14 May 1873, New Glasgow, Quebec
christened: 28 Jul 1873 in the Methodist Church, New Glasgow.
d. Unknown, where she died: Unknown, place of burial: Unknown
Is her birthdate consistant with being old enough or young enough to be Sir George Simpson's mistress? You might run a search on the web for Hudson's Bay Company history. You could also check out our Anne more thoroughly in Quebec records to see if she is shown to marry and have children with someone else at the same time as another Anne is cavorting with Sir George. I didn't dig deeper here for two reasons; because she is not my direct line and because of the large number of children produced in the three consecutive marriages.
An Alexander Peterkin witnessed the marriage of James P. Peterkin to Jane Ann Hird, and I have no idea how he is related to my Peterkins. It could be your Anne is related more closely to him, or to yet another parallel line originating further back. So far, our Peterkins haven't even 'rubbed shoulders' with the aristocracy and our family history could use a little lustre.
Good luck and please let me know if you ever find anything conclusive in the future.
