Tigerdolly:
I suspect Catherine Forbes, born about 1799, who lived on a farm on Wolfe Island in the 1850's next to the farm where Thomas' sons farmed, was a sister of Thomas. She married to Donald L. McDonell (or McDonald)and raised her family Catholic, though it seems she came from a Presbyterian family. Donald L. McDonell was appointed executor by my great great granfather in his 1862 Will. Two of Donald L. and Catherine Forbes McDonell's sons married daughters of my great great grandfather's brother John McDonell.
Donald L. and Catherine later moved to Howe Island and are buried there in St. Philomena's Roman Catholic Cemetery. Their stone reads:
56. Cahrn FORBES, wife of D. McDonald, died Sept 2, 1884. Aged 84 years. Native of Co. Perth, Scotland.
Donald McDONALD, died Dec 8, 1887. Aged 89 years. Native of Lochaber, Inverness, Scotland.
Catherine's interment record has this information:
Mrs. Donald McDonald nee Catherine Forbes, Born Jan 1, 1799- Died Sept. 2, 1884, Buried Sept. 4, 1884 - R.C. Cemetary Howe Island Interned Wits. Angus McDonald & D. C. McRae & Others
One of the witnesses to the interment was her son Angus (1839 in Quebec - 1915 Howe Island). In 1874 he was appointed auditor for the Township of Howe Island.
Both Thomas Forbes and his wife Jane North are listed as Presbyterian on their death registrations:
Thomas FORBS, June 17, 1885, Male, 85 years, yeoman, Ireland, -, -, Thomas Chambers Wolfe Island, 20th June 1885, Presbyterian , LA Hatfield, 004677. Submitted by AM Benson.

L A Hatfield was Registrar and Clerk for the Township of Wolfe Island at the time.
Thomas' son Samuel and his wife Rebecca Anderson are buried in Christ Church Anglican Cemetery, a couple of miles east of where their farm was located:
