Have only just come across your message and hope you are still checking for replies occasionally after sixteen months.
I am one of the Australian descendants of Alexander Finlayson and Janet Burnside through their son Alexander Finlayson who married Janet Glen.
I don't have any information on the Kirkwoods, but have unconfirmed information that the father of Alexander who married Janet Burnside, was born in 1676 and named Robert Finlaysone. His father born c1670 was also named Alexander Finlayson. Robert married married Agnes Young. Do you have any knowledge of Robert and Alexander and their families? Would love to hear from you.
