I have a pdf file with a little bio on John Ryder, son of UE Loyalist Samuel Ryder. Both father and son were land surveyors. The Ryder property on the Black River (Watertown, NY area) was confiscated after the American Revolution and the family came to Kingston (then Cataraqui), Upper Canada. According to this bio, John Ryder's daughter Mary (Polly) married first Daniel Ferris (she married twice more after Daniel).
