Nancy: My great grandmother, MARTHA Caroline Lucinda MOONEY,was born in 1853,PIKE Co.AL.
Her mother was M.J.FAULK and her father possibly was WM. MOONEY.
This family moved from ALABAMA to UPSHUR CO.,TX or nearby counties possibly after 1853. Also lived in GRAYSON Co.,TX. May have lived or visited some in OK.
I really feel our families are connected at some point. I was at a brickwall until I found information on these families in THE HANDBOOK OF TEXAS ONLINE. Here I learned that the Faulk & Mooney families arrived in Wood and Upshur Counties TX between 1845-1875. I know that Martha's father, Wm (?)MOONEY owned land in BIG SANDY, TX.
If possible,I would like to compare notes with you.
