Reading your 9 y. old post and perhaps you have found your answers? I've not been into this Farmer line for many years, but you have about the same that my husband and I found in the early 1980's. We always wondered if Moses and Gardner were brothers. I did not know that Sally was living with them in her old age and I don't assume anything but the dates fit. Did you find Gardner's parents? We had thought perhaps Edward Farmer and Hannah Gardner were the parents. m. Mar 1771.
The one living in Rangeley was perhaps Moses III, son of Moses Jr and Mary Ball (from Brunswick) Moses Jr, Jane and daughter Harriet in 1850 were living in the same house as David a. 30, Mary A a.30, and John Coy a.8. (clue here on Coy name?)
Jane d. Feb 1857,Moses Jr married Mary Ball July 1857.
Moses III m. Alzada Sampson who d. 5 JAN 1848, prob result of childbirth as her son, Walter Morton, was b. 19 Sept 1847.
Moses III was a blacksmith in Temple, ME and later lived in Farmington Falls. He m. 2 Arabella Lambert of Farmington. Looks like they had 8 ch. I have listed Ella, Mellen (Melvin), Edd, Frank, Loey, Charles, Abby, and Anna. (not in birth order)
What were they doing in Rangeley?
Have you anything confirmed on this Moses Farmer line? Somewhere we had found that Moses, Sr. may have been living with an aunt during his childhood.
I would be interested in your Gardner Farmer line, Do you have a David H in the Gardner line?
