Lars Jonsson Ek was a former soldier (in Sweden called husar)and as such a man it was very common that youtook another surename. Only so they could be separeted from another Lars Jonsson. This is of course not 100% right in your case, but it was very common in those days. They normally used a name from their background or from where they came (from Eker village). I have a soldier from my ancestors who came from a place Långanäs, he could himself Magnusson Långnäs.
