i have not come across a woman by that name. your mom would have been born around 1941 and all of my ecuadorian research was before that time. you can try doing a search for ecuadorian baptisms/births for 1940-1942 at this website:
https://www.familysearch.org/search/collection/show#uri=http...if you do find anything that reveals your mother's Egas ancestry, please share that with me. i am searching for my g-g-grandfather's (Severo Egas Andrade) roots from spain and when he came to Otavalo, Ecuador ca. 1860. the Egas family must have made their mark in politics because a street in the NW corner of the city is named "EGAS" street.
