I was just wondering, was your father William Warren Eastman of Maine? I was doing work on my Eastman line (my mother was Henrietta Virginia Eastman), and saw that there are 8 family trees with William W. Eastman's name in Maine. That would be a good place to start - by contacting the owners of a family tree. This board is also a good start.
