No one in my family can seem to get back farther than Easley/Burchet. Would sure appreciate if anyone can clear up the following:

I have James Calvin Easley who wed Sarah Jane Sparrow.

James Calvin's parents are listed in all family trees of ours, as Martin Easley and Cordelia Burchett. Cordelia apparently married up to 5 times or so. (So her maiden name may or may not be Burchett.)

But the marraige I find here is James Easley to Cordelia Burchet. That marriage is 1843 when Martin Easley, listed as born in 1839, would've been a child, if the years are all accurate.

Can anyone tell me more about the Easley/Burchet marriage?

I did find one other Martin Easley, in Illinois, approximately the same age, who was in the Civil War, and wed a woman named Louisa. I found all sort of things for him and he turned out to definitely not be my ancestor, wrong Easley.
