Hi Nancy,
I am very happy to hear from you. There are several questions that I have for you. It is possible that we met several years ago. I can remember my family visiting with your grandmother Rosa. My mother's name is also Nancy. I spoke with her tonight and mentioned that you had contacted me. She thought that you must be the daughter of Jeannette. Is that correct?
Regarding Joseph, my understanding is that he was the youngest child of Hermengilde and Celina. I met his son Maurice a few years ago who is a roofer in Manchester which is where I now live.
I am really hoping that you can give me some information on Celina's family. I have been able to trace the Duhaime family back to Canada in the 1600's, but have had little success with Celina's line. I know that her parents were Jean-Baptiste Danis and Julie Lirette dit Rochefort. I have not been able to find any information on who their parents were, however. Any information that you have would be greatly appreciated. Do you know when and where Julie died? I also have not been able to find a record of Jean-Baptiste's and Julie's marriage. I know that they had a son Jean-Baptiste who was born in St. Guillaume d'Upton, Yamaska, Quebec so I would think that they were married in Canada, yet even the National Archives of Quebec has no record of their marriage.
I will gladly share the information that I have on the Duhaime family if you are interested. If you have a scanner I would love to get a copy of your old photos that you mentioned. I have an old photo of my grandparents and mother which I will send you if you would like a copy.
What is you e-mail address? It would probably be easier connecting that way in the future. Mine is
mactavishll@mediaone.net. (The letters after mactavish are two lower case "L"s.)
I look forward to hearing back from you.
Best wishes,
Harry
