Hi Amy,
Iam Mike Driscoll and my roots are from the Barryroe area (Head Of Kinsale).I don't know if there is any connection here. But, my gg grandfather Michael Driscoll (1816)was born in a small town nearby known as Grange (Griffiths Valuation known as Grangemore). I have in my possession copies of Baptismal records for Driscolls Keohanes from the area. Parish is known as St Marys Star of the Sea. I visited this parish in 96.Nearby in a small town is Lislevane. There is an old run-down cemetary where I believe my ggg granparents are probably buried.Michael married Mary Keohane (born 1829). Michael had two other brothers Dennis M John M.
Information received when I was at the Irish Cultural Center in Milwaukee that there was a Jerimiah Driscoll living in Grange (Grangemore) also. Related somehow, perhaps, another brother or cousin. From Griffiths valuation it showed the whole neighborhood, there were Whites,Briens,Maddens and several other names.
My gg grandfather and gg grandmother made there home in Milwaukee,Wi.Records show he first got to Wi. in June of 1843. Made several trips back to Ireland before marrying Mary. They had 2 of there 8 children in Ireland,Catherine (1852) and John,my g grandfather(1853). Catherine I never made it to US. Apparently, died in Ireland. John did come with Michael Mary in about 1854.
