I came across the OP's line while researching immigration records for a Patrick Doody born about 1818 in Ireland. I'd never heard of the Robinson Settlers, fascinating...
My Patrick fought in the Mexican-American War with the 1st NY Volunteers (organized in Bath, NY) and later spent time in the CA gold fields. He was married to Bridget, also born about 1818 Ireland and their daughter Mary V. (my ggg-grandmother) was born 1847 in CA.
I actually suspect that they immigrated together in 1840's but I'd love to hear from you if this resembles anything you know about John & Eliza's son Patrick.
Cheers!
