Hello: I see that you have an interest in the surname D'Agosto. I am hoping that you may be able to help me. My wife's great-great-grandfather was Angelo D'Agosto, who came from Salerno and arrived in USA about 1903 or so. I think he came alone. He married Maria Grossi in 1905. They lived in Yonkers, New York through 1940 as per census. Name has been mangled over the years. Started out as D'Agosto on marriage record. Became Dagaslo on 1910 census. Was Accosta on 1920 census. Was simply Costa on 1930 and 1940 censuses. Am trying to find out two things:

1. Do you happen to know WHICH PART OF SALERNO he came from. He was born about 1880/1881. His father's name was Francesco and his mother was Sabatella Farina.

2. Do you have any information on him after 1940? Was living in Yonkers, NY.

Worth a shot to ask I guess.
