I have been trying to find the parents of John Henry Detty, father-in-law of American Ann Hopper Detty. Some circumstantial evidence points to Elisha and Elizabeth Flora Detty as being the parents of John Henry. I think they may also be the parents of William Harrison Detty born about 1818 and married to Prudence Hartley. William Harrison is also the father of an unaccounted for Elizabeth. This Elizabeth was born about 1840. America's mother Elizabeth is living with them in 1900 in Nodaway County, MO, (no notation for a different last name). She is listed as 60 years old.
Jesse David Detty's son (eldest son of John Henry Detty) is William HARTLEY Detty.
Do you have anything that can prove or disprove this?
Also, do you have any idea when and where John Henry Detty died and where he is buried? I previously had June 5, 1900. He showed up in the 1900 census with Thomas and American Ann. The census was taken on June 13, 1900, so John Henry was still alive then!
