I have been researching this family prior to their emigration.

I am pretty certain that the man named Alexander Walter Densmore is actually Alexander Walker DUNSMORE who was born in Lanarkshire 31 Dec 1823.
He together with his brother and other family members, arrived in the US in 1839.
His brother's name eventually altered to... DINSMORE.
I believe their parents were already in Pennsylvania at that time

Parents were: Archibald Dunsmore and Margaret Walker.
