I don't know if you are still on this site, but Thomas J. Deckard is my great grandfather. His son, Robert J. Deckard, is my grandfather, so your father is my great uncle. Thomas' father was John J. Deckard, born 1814 in KY or TN, died October 11, 1860 in Lafayette county, MS. He married Mary J. Alvis in 1838 and had nine children.
