Nepomuceno de la Cerda was my great great great great great grandfather. He was born in 1752 in Los Adaes. He was a scout protecting Catholic priests from hostile Indians in the Louisiana/Texas area. His brother Francisco was also a scout and an Indian fighter. Nepomuceno is reportd dying at age 107 years old in 1858. Nepomuceno was also one of the 76 signers to petition to the King of Spain so the Spainards could go east to Louisiana , but they could go as far east as Nacodoches, Texas. Nepomuceno's father was probably Francisco de la Cerda who was a soldier , and was the Commander of a Texas fort near San Antonio.
