Dear Cheryl,
I am sorry to take so long in getting back to you, but I did want to check my info before I responded. I show a
Rebecca Dane (of John Dane, Dr. and of John Dane Sr. of, Roxbury of Roxbury, MA freeman 2 June 1641 d. 14 Sept 1658 came to North America with his deceased wife Elizabeth's 3 children). Rebecca married James Hovey who was killed by the Indians at Brookfield 2 August 1675. I show child Daniel Hovey of Rebecca (Dane) and James Hovey. (I wonder if this is the same day that the Josslyn people were killed as well.) Rebecca had a sister, Sarah Dane who married Daniel Warner, ensign and had Mercy Warner, who married her cousin Israel Howe.
Other siblings of Rebecca Dane Hovey are
Mary Dane b. 1639 m. William Chandler (24 Aug 1658). William Chandler was the son of his grandfather's 2nd wife. Mary and William Chandler and had children: Thomas Chandler and Mary Chandler. Mary Chandler married Hezikiah Bradford (s. of William Bradford)
John Dane b. 1643 d. 1707 m. Abigail Warner and had 7 children.
Philemon Dane, Dr. married 1) Mary Thompson (7 Oct 1685) and 2) Ruth Converse 25 Dec 1690) ch=5
Elizabeth Dane b. 1646 d. 1722 m. Reginald Foster, Jr. and ch- I Isaac Foster.
Then I show sibling DANE. For the longest time I have been trying to show a connection to my husband's ancestor Abraham Daynes of New London and John Dane of Roxbury. The only common thread is through the Elizabeth (Dane) Howe, daughter of John Dane and deceased wife Elizabeth. This John Dane Sr. of Roxbury (as I call him), sailed with Nathaniel Rogers/Rodgers- I am guessing son of the Rev. John Rodgers.
It is quite feasible that if many of the family were massacred at Brookfield, the survivors may have married each other OR yoru Rebecca Warner is the daughter of Daniel and Sarah (Dane) Warner. I do not know that for a fact, but I have thought often of the survivors of those attacks. I have a website at http:
www.daynesfamilytree.com. Look at the Dane and Howe family tree pages and see if something is familiar. You can email me directly.

P.S. Was it me who did the walter snafu? I dont like responding through message boards for that reason.
