Astra, I find much confusion on the subject of Priscilla or Rebecca Dane, daughter of John Dane and Eleanor Clark. I have read that she was married to James Hovey who died at Quaboag in 1675. But there is also record that he was married to a Priscilla or Rebecca Warner, "daughter of John of Quaboag". This from the magistrates book from Quaboag Plantation.
I have read that Priscilla Dane survived Quaboag and other reports of her death in 1675.
Whether it's Priscilla Dane or Priscilla Warner, always the same children are named. James Jr. who after his father's death, lived with his Grandfather Daniel Hovey and Priscilla and Daniel who left Quoboag with their mother.
I am a Hovey descendant and find it odd that more people do not question this conflict as it goes back to our roots in this country. I would appreciate clarification from you or anybody else out there interested in this puzzle.
